# Terms of use

These terms are between you and MarylandFeed, the publisher of marylandfeed.com. By using the site you agree to them. They are written to be read, so they are short.


## Who we are

MarylandFeed is an independent news site covering Maryland state government, public safety, roads and the outdoors. We are not part of the State of Maryland or any agency we cover. You can reach us at [news@marylandfeed.com](mailto:news@marylandfeed.com).

## What our stories are

Some of our stories are prepared with help from AI tools under our editors' oversight; [our ethics page](/ethics/#ai) explains how.

Our stories are for general information. They are not legal, medical, financial or safety advice. For anything that affects you directly, read the official source and contact the agency involved. In an emergency, call 911 and follow instructions from public officials.

We work to be accurate and we fix mistakes in the open. See [our corrections policy](/corrections-policy/).

## Sharing our work

- You are welcome to link to any story and to quote short passages, with credit to MarylandFeed and a link to the story.
- Please do not republish whole stories, or large parts of them, without permission. [Contact us](/contact/) to ask.
- Search engines and AI answer services may read and cite our stories as our [robots.txt](/robots.txt) allows. Citations should credit MarylandFeed and link to the story.
- Official announcements belong to the agencies that published them. Our name, logo and design belong to MarylandFeed. The Maryland flag in our logo is the State's flag and is used here only to show that we cover Maryland.

## Using the site

Please do not try to break, overload or get around the site's security, send spam through our forms, or pretend to be someone else when you contact us. We may block access that does these things.

## Your submissions

When you send us a tip, message or correction request, you confirm that it is accurate as far as you know and that you are allowed to share it. You let us use it to report and correct stories. We will not publish your name or contact details without your permission. Our [privacy policy](/privacy/) explains how we handle what you send.

## Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.

## Ads and sponsorships

MarylandFeed does not show ads today. If we add ads or sponsorships, they will be clearly labeled and kept separate from our news stories, and advertisers will have no say over what we report.

## Links to other sites

We link to official sources and other sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

## No warranty, and limits on our responsibility

We provide the site as is. We do not promise that it will always be available, complete or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, MarylandFeed is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on our stories, including decisions made based on a summary rather than the official source.

## Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Any dispute about them will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Maryland.

## Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and the current version is always on this page. If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
